I grew up on a chicken farm, forty thousand birds, with two newspaper routes on the side. I was working before I was grown, and I never really stopped.

In 1980 I went on the tools. I became a Red Seal journeyman carpenter and spent twenty-four years building: custom homes, renovations, and commercial work including BC Tel buildings and the SkyDome in Toronto. I ran my own finishing company, Dano Construction, with crews on jobs like a community centre and a lakeside resort.

I got licensed in 2004 and have sold real estate in Penticton and the South Okanagan ever since.

What that means for you. I built houses for twenty-four years before I sold them, so I walk a property the way a builder does. I will tell you what is right with a house, and I will tell you what is wrong with it too, before you are committed, not after the inspection.

Education is part of the job. I teach while I show, the same way I did on the job site, because a house you understand is a house you can decide about. My blog, blog.danjones.ca, is where I write it down.
